The World Health Forum kicked off yesterday both online and offline at Tsinghua University. Themed Building a Resilient Public Health System, this first-of-its-kind forum served as an important exchange platform for the global public health community.
Convening renowned scholars and leaders towards a global perspective in the health field, the Forum concentrated on universal health coverage, SDG 2030, safeguarding health in a changing environment, new technology in health care, among other timely and important issues.
Here are some key takeaways from the guest speakers at the forum:
“Only by strengthening solidarity and cooperation can we end the epidemic as soon as possible, and can we jointly respond to future challenges and promote the common well-being of mankind,” said Vice President Zeng Rong of Tsinghua University at the closing ceremony of the Forum. “The first World Health Forum comes to a successful conclusion, and it also marks a new beginning.”
The World Health Forum, which attracted over 400,000 viewers from all over the world, closed today with the successful organization of four plenary sessions and a special session called “Youth Power”. Renowned leaders, members of international organizations, experts and scholars, and outstanding entrepreneurs from more than 20 countries and regions, 13 well-known universities as well as 23 organizations and institutions at home and abroad gathered online at the Forum, discussed strategies and measures to promote understanding and cooperation on important issues of global public health governance, the realization of the SDGs and universal health coverage.
