In today’s digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) stands as a strategic technology and significant driving force, leading a new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. Its rapid development is bringing unprecedented empowerment to various industries. In the field of public health, the application of AI is profoundly reshaping the public health system. From enhancing the accuracy of diagnostics to customizing personalized prevention strategies, and upgrading intelligent public health monitoring and emergency response, AI is demonstrating unprecedented potential and value. Undoubtedly, it provides new opportunities and possibilities for addressing the complex and ever-changing challenges in public health. As AI technology continues to advance and improve, we are collectively building a more efficient, intelligent, and forward-looking public health system.
The 4th World Health Forum will focus on the theme “AI Empowers the Future of Health.” It will concentrate on the application and development of AI in the public health. The forum will bring together renowned global experts and scholars, government officials, heads of international and non-governmental organizations, industry leaders, and cross-disciplinary authorities. Participants will share experiences, forecast future trends, and explore how to maximize the potential of AI to drive innovative development in public health, advance with the times, enhance global health standards, and create a better future.

Session 1: The application of AI in major diseases prevention and control This panel focuses on the application of AI and other new technologies in the prevention and control of major diseases. The first session will focus on the prevention and control of major infectious diseases and the second session will focus on the prevention and control of major chronic diseases (including psychiatric disorders). The keynote speeches will include an overview of relevant research progress at home and abroad and the sharing of successful experience cases, and the discussion will mainly focus on the prospects of the key applications of AI in the prevention and control of major diseases, as well as the current difficulties, problems and challenges. |

AI has demonstrated significant potential in various areas, including disease diagnosis, drug development, epidemic monitoring, intelligent health management, and evidence-based decision-making. Traditional H&W knowledge struggles to keep pace with the swiftly evolving digital era, making it essential to integrate and collaborate with disciplines such as information technology, data science, and engineering. Simultaneously, the development of AI provides powerful tools and momentum to overcome the challenges of interdisciplinary integration. Exploring how AI can empower interdisciplinary and full-fledged talents development in H&W will become a crucial topic for future educational reforms in the field. This not only helps to enhance the professional standards and service quality in H&W but also propels the field towards a new era of digitalization, intelligence, and personalization. |

As the primary beneficiaries and drivers of technology, the younger generation carries significant responsibility and mission. Young people possess sharper innovative abilities, allowing them to deeply understand the potential applications of AI in health and translate these insights into innovative practices. These practices include using AI to analyze and understand medical data, identify and predict population health risks, provide accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans for patients, promote drug development and clinical trials, and optimize the allocation of medical resources.
